Shahrukh Khan is an Indian actor known for his work in Bollywood films as an actor and producer as well as his work in the television field.
Khan’s first notable job in the film industry was ‘'Fauji’’, an extremely popular television series that aired in 1988 about trainees in commando school, their training, and eventual recruitment as soldiers. Khan played Abhimanyu Rai, and was the only cast member to make a successful transition into mainstream film work.
Khan’s film debut was the successful ‘'Deewana’’ (1992), in which he played one of the protagonists, Raja Sahai. Since this film, Khan has been involved in several film triumphs, often winning awards for his work.
While some of his best-known include Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Om Shanti Om (2007), are some of Bollywood's biggest hits, making Khan one of the most successful actors of Bollywood cinema. Since 2000, Khan branched out into film production and television presenting as well. He is the founder-owner of two film production companies, Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment.
Having a strong interest in football since childhood, he decided to own his own Cricket team. As He is the owner of IPL team Kolkata Nights Riders.

Biography[]
Shahrukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965 in New Delhi, India to Taj Mohammed Khan, a freedom activist from Peshawar, and Lateef Fatima. Khan attended the St. Columba’s School in Delhi, receiving the Sword of Honour, an award annually given to one student who embodies high school spirit. He attended the Hansraj College to earn an Honors degree in Economics, followed by an education at Jamia Millia Islamia for a Masters Degree in Mass Communications.
Khan moved to Mumbai in 1991 and married his girlfriend, Gauri Khan in Hindu fashion on October 25, 1991. His parents had died before the move.
In 1997, the couple’s firstborn, son Aryan Khan, was born. In 2000, daughter Suhana was born.
In April 2007, the Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum in London unveiled a stunning, life-size “King Khan” wax doll.
Career[]
Khan joined Delhi’s Theatre Action Group to study under Theatre Director Barry John, who commented that "The credit for the phenomenally successful development and management of Shahrukh’s career goes to the superstar himself."
Following his acting debut in the 1988 television series, ‘’Fauji’’, Khan appeared in several other television serials, primarily in the 1989 series, ‘’Circus’’, a series in which actors portrayed the lives of circus performers. Also, in 1989, Khan appeared in a minor role in a made-for-television English film named ‘’In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones’’, a film based on life at Delhi University.
The death of his parents was followed by a move from New Delhi to Mumbai in 1991, where he made his Bollywood film debut the following year in ‘'Deewana’’, which starred such notable actors as Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri, and the late Divya Bharti.
